CHILD SAFE ENVIRONMENTS

A vital course that has been designed to meet a new legislation which is the Child and Young Persons Safety Act 2017. It covers all aspects relating to safe environments for clients, workers and organisations in contact with children. This highly rated course also includes interactive workshops and quizzes designed to increase knowledge and awareness and your compliance obligations

 

 

CLEAN INTERMITTENT CATHETERISATION

This course is designed around the urinary tract in relation to clean intermittent catherisation. It details reasons why clients might have it done and it goes through as a healthcare operator, how to perform the procedure

 

 

CONTINENCE ASSESSMENT

This course is more aimed at Registered Nurses. It delves into basic knowledge in thorough continence assessments and how to apply the outcomes to clients to develop a continence plan

An in-depth course focussed on how to perform the tasks practically. We also learn about the why and how enteral feeding is performed. We take a closer look at what the tubes look like as well as the other components including pumps and how to care for equipment. Feeding methods and client experience are also covered

 

EPILEPSY AWARENESS AND SEIZURE MANAGEMENT

In this course, theres detailed learning about different types of epilepsy. We focus on how it affects everyday activities for our clients, the medication involved, managing day to day, the varied types of seizures & general living with the condition & how it affects our clients

 

INDWELLING URINARY CATHETER CARE

During this session, we investigate the anatomy and physiology of the bladder and why we use catheters. We go through vital care of equipment instructions and also how to translate this to our clients at home. We also look at essential equipment needed to perform and go through general wellbeing including good bladder health and UTI’s.  A great course for registered nurses and support workers

 

INFECTION PREVENTION

During this session, we generally cover how to manage UTI’s with a catheter

 

MANUAL HANDLING

This course is offered as either a TWO DAY, FULL DAY or HALF DAY refresher. It covers safety in terms of transferring and mobility and with use of hoists and other aids

 

MEALTIME MATTERS

This vital course looks at healthy nutrition and general swallowing difficulties including the importance of hydration. We look at calories and food nutrition as well as preparation. This course also covers general mealtime behaviour which can include challenging behaviours and how to behave at the table

 

MEDICATION SUPPORT

Our most popular course. We start by discovering what medications are as well as medication safety, different types and how they affect the body, delivery systems, use of dosage admin aids. We learn how to importantly administer from manufacturer’s instructions. We go through scope of practice, infection prevention and control and medication legislation. MIDAZOLAM

Midazolam is the main medication used to manage seizure activity. In this course we go through how to understand the medication itself as well as the link in seizure management

 

OSTOMY CARE

At this course we learn about the different kinds of stoma and how to manage as well as the aids and appliances used and how to care for them. We also investigate care of peristomal skin and nutrition and hydration

 

PALLIATIVE CARE

A great course for registered nurses and support workers. We go through the contexts of palliative care, symptom management, grief and loss, death and dying

 

TRACHEOSTOMY CARE

During this session we focus on different types of tubes and how to manage as well as aids and appliances used. We cover how to care for skin as well as nutrition and hydration

 

URINARY SHEATH

This session covers all the important basics including use, how and why, care of everyday skin needs, urinary health and hydration and most importantly, how to apply a sheath

 

WOUND CARE AND SKIN INTEGRITY

In this course we cover skin anatomy and physiology. We look at how wounds develop and the different kinds of wounds. We thoroughly look at pressure injury prevention, skin care and finally wound care products available
